PURGATORY METROPOLITAN DISTRICT

NOTICE OF BOARD VACANCY

Purgatory Metropolitan District is seeking candidates for an appointment to its Board of Directors.  The District is governed by a five-member Board of Director’s, which in turn is supported by a professional staff.  Board Members usually serve for a term of four years, and are elected in odd numbered years.

Currently there is a vacancy on the Board and the current Board is charged with appointing an eligible elector as a replacement Member.  In accordance with State law, the appointed Board Member will serve on the Board until the next Board election which occurs in May, 2025, at which time the appointee may run for re-election, if he or she so desires.  The Board is seeking candidates who are interested in serving on this Board.  To be eligible to serve on the Board, you must be a registered Colorado voter and either (1) be a resident within the District for not less than 30 days; or (2) own taxable real or personal property that is located within the District and is titled in your or your spouse’s personal name (property titled in the name of a trust or corporate or legal entities, including limited liability companies, does not qualify).  The Board will require proof of qualifications to assure adherence to applicable State law.

The Board meets monthly for regular Board meetings and schedules special meetings, workshops, etc from time to time as needed.

The Board has a short time frame in which to consider candidates and appoint the new Board Member.  Please send in your letter of interest no later than April 15th, 2024.
