Community Park
The community park features Twilight Lake, 19 acres of parkland, a Volcano playground, and a 4,600sf community center. The community center houses the Purgatory Metropolitan District offices, public restrooms, a multi-purpose great room, a wood-burning fireplace, an outside deck, and garage space. The park includes extensive trails, picnic tables, picnic benches, and playground equipment, and Twilight Lake is stocked with rainbow trout each spring. In the winter months, the Durango Nordic Club offers Nordic skiing and snowshoeing out of the facility. A day pass is required for use of the Nordic ski trails in the winter. Continue checking in with us for updates about events and future improvements. In the meantime, please come and visit the community park and center and enjoy. The center is located approximately 1/4 mile north of the main entrance to Purgatory Resort on the east side of Highway 550. The community center can be reserved for events by contacting Amy Ward at amy.ward@purgatory-metro.org.
Fishing in the park is catch and release only. Please practice responsible fishing by using barbless hooks and single-hook lures!
